Middle School Alternate Transportation Requests

Alternate Transportation Information for Parents

The Roslyn Athletic Department would like to remind families of our expectations regarding team travel. In order to support team unity, player accountability, and a consistent game-day experience, all athletes are expected to travel to and from away contests with their team and coach.

Alternate transportation forms are only approved in cases of true extenuating circumstances. We understand that this may occasionally create scheduling challenges; however, traveling together is an important part of maintaining team cohesion. Riding the bus as a team fosters a sense of belonging, limits selective participation, and reinforces the commitment athletes make to their school team.

Bus travel also provides coaches with valuable time to communicate team goals, discuss strategies, and review games together. Whether motivating athletes, celebrating achievements, or offering support after a tough contest, this shared time is an important part of the student-athlete experience. We work to preserve this environment with as few interruptions as possible.

Alternate Transportation Request Procedure

  • All requests must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the contest.

  • Families must contact Middle School Principal Mr. Gabrus through the middle school main office at 516-801-5200 or by email at jgabrus@roslynschools.org.

  • Forms will be approved only after a direct conversation with Mr. Gabrus.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to promote a strong, cohesive, and positive athletic environment for all of our student-athletes.
